Rock the Cape
Rock The Cape is an annual arts event on Hatteras Island, on the Outer Banks of North Carolina. In its fourth year, Rock The Cape returns to the island June 8-10, 2016 with a full slate of arts activities from Rodanthe to Hatteras Village.
Dare County Arts Council will host the 4th annual Rock The Cape concert at Koru Village in Avon on Saturday June 9, 2016. The concert features Unknown Tongues, the cajun-zydeco dance band of the Down East coastal NC bayou, and The Midlantic from Wilmington NC, a vibrant blend of progressive folk, americana, and bluegrass.
Rock The Cape is a three-day celebration of the creative community of Hatteras Island with live music, art demonstrations and activities for children. New in 2016, Rock the Cape will feature Experience Art events at numerous galleries on the island on June 8 and 9. On June 10, the Island Art Show returns to the Rodanthe-Waves-Salvo Community Center.
Tickets for the Rock The Cape concert are $12 in advance and $18 at the door. Island Art Show
CELEBRATE OUTER BANKS ART! ALL are welcome to this community event.This is an indoor/outdoor event (unless it storms. then we will be squeezing most artists indoors but the event WILL GO ON!)
Time: 10 AM - 5 PM
Several **LOCAL** artists will be on site vending their goods~ this is your chance to meet & talk with them! Also life music from local musicians, raffle for a gift basket of goodies from participating artists and lunch will be available for purchase.
Each Island Art Show has been/will be a Benefit for a different local community cause/organization. We are so excited to host such a FUN event that also gives back to the community!
The RWS Community Center happens to be at the very end of the tri-village pathway! So feel free to ride your bikes, scooters, skateboards, or walkin' shoes by and check it out! Lots of parking will be available, too.
