A four day Bluegrass Block Party featuring local food and talent, with regional and national bands playing bluegrass and roots music. 

Food and refreshments will be provided by the Frisco and Hatteras Volunteer Fire Departments, and musicians and vendors will be in attendance and jamming from the Outer Banks area, New York, Pennsylvania, Florida, the mountains of North Carolina, and beyond. Weekend passes are available for the entire four days of festivities, and music lovers can also purchase individual day tickets. Destined to be a foot-stomping good time, Hatterasity is sure to become Hatteras Island's newest beloved annual festival. 

Weekend Outline 

Bluegrass Jam Thursday night, 7-till 11ish. 

Friday, 3PM-11PM 

Saturday, Noon to 11ish, 

Sunday, 1PM-6PM 



Thursday and Sunday Tickets: $10, 

Friday and Saturday Tickets: $35 , 

Weekend tickets $45 before August 1st, $60 dollars at the door.



HICF Fun Run


The Hatteras Island Cancer Foundation will have its 12th annual Fun Run, a 5K race, on Saturday, Oct. 10th, at 10 a.m. 

Registration begins at 9 a.m. in the parking lot of Sun Realty in Avon. Before, during, and after the race, there will be music, food, and other fun events for all participants and spectators. 

The entry fee is $25 for adults and $15 for children 12 and under who preregister. Children in strollers are free. Registration includes a T-shirt. You can preregister at the Cancer Foundation’s secure, online site, http://www.hicf.org/events.html or by downloading a form at http://www.hicf.org/events.html and mailing. Registration on the day of the race is $30 for adults and $20 for children. 

The Cancer Foundation urges all participants to wear pink in support of Breast Cancer Awareness month. A prize will go to the most “pinked out” participant.

CCFW holds its annual fundraiser - a saltwater fishing tournament - the 3rd weekend in October on the Outer Banks of North Carolina. The proceeds go to support our club’s many charitable donations and activities. Each year, Cape Hatteras charitable needs are identified by community leaders to receive a significant portion of tournament proceeds. In the past, included among CCFW tournament proceed recipients have been the local Meals on Wheels, the Food Bank, the Fessenden Center, as well as individuals in need. capitalcityfourwheelersva.com/

7TH Annual NCBBA Red Drum Tournament

The 4 day event will once again be hosted by & headquartered at Frank & Fran's in Avon with registration beginning at 10:00 A.M. on the 21st. Fishing begins at 12:01 A.M. October 22nd & continues until 4:00 P.M. October 25th. This tournament is "Grandfathered" under the Final Rule, so the Northern Beaches between Ramp #23 & Ramp #38 that are otherwise closed will be open. (Subject to Resource Closures for turtles) This is your opportunity to fish these areas! The chains will be removed & signs covered by NPS by 8:00 A.M. October 22nd. 

We will be collecting non-perishable food items for the "Hatteras Island Food Pantry" & new unwrapped toys for "Toys for Tots" during registration and throughout the tournament at Frank & Fran's. ncbbaonline.com/
